Miniature Circus (due 2/13)

Together the class will make a miniature working circus. Students will work in pairs to make miniature circus acts. You will perform your act on critique day. You may use any materials that you think are appropriate for your idea. We will set up on a table in front of the black wall, so scale your pieces accordingly. Describe your act in the comments section, and make sure not to do something someone has already signed up for. Wire Sculpture due 01/23/09

Using wire as your medium, you will create a 3 dimensional drawing. By bending, twisting, wrapping, or crimping your wire, you can create lines to describe the volume and texture of your form. Experiment with outline, contour line, and gesture to express your subject matter. Make drawings of each dimension of your subject matter in your sketch book before you begin sculpting.

Subject matter: portrait head
Materials: Wire you were given in class, any other wire you can find, wire cutters, needle nose pliers, anything that will help you bend the wire, wooden stand
Dimensions: 8x8x8 inches
