Multiple cardboard & found objects: telling your story!

Create a series of related objects made from cardboard and fabric (minimum 3), which together tell a story about you, your family, your neighborhood, or your feelings about today. The fabric can not be glued to the cardboard, but must be sewn, woven, tied etc. 

You must incorporate other 2D and/or 3D elements in or with the objects. These can be original (or Xeroxed) photos, art pieces, magazine clippings, found objects, projections, sound elements etc.. No single element can be larger than 10”. Your choice of materials, construction methods, finish, selection of found elements, and final arrangement should be consistent with the overall meaning and expression of the piece.

First assignment (completed in class)                    8/24/2018
            2D planar surfaces to 3D assemblage

Using only the sheets of paper and tools and materials provided, create a fully 3 dimensional sculpture using assemblage techniques, including but not limited to: cutting, tearing, folding, inserting, tying, gluing, taping, sewing etc.
You must also incorporate one existing drawing/sketch of your own from your sketchbook.

Objective:
Create a sculpture, which is at least 4’ in one dimension and is able to support/stand/lean/project itself without any other supportive aids. The piece must have a specific relationship to the floor and/or wall.
Incorporate at least 2 different assemblage techniques.

You have 90 minutes to complete the assignment.
