2D planar surfaces to 3D assemblage


Using only the sheets of paper and tools and materials provided, create a fully 3 dimensional sculpture using assemblage techniques, including but not limited to: cutting, tearing, folding, inserting, gluing, taping, stapling, tying, etc.
You must also incorporate one existing drawing/sketch of your own.

Objective:
Create a sculpture, which is at least 4 feet in one dimension and is able to support/uphold/stand/lean/project itself without any other supportive aids.
The piece must have a specific relationship to the floor and/or wall.
Incorporate at least 3 different assemblage techniques.

You have 90 minutes to complete the assignment.

Cardboard Cube

Create a cardboard cube that is EXACTLY 8”x8”x8” in dimension. You must use corrugated cardboard and wood glue or Elmer’s glue to construct your piece.  Your piece must incorporate at least 4 of the 6 sides of the cube. You must also include a photo in/on/with the piece. The photo must be yours, it can be an existing photo you took, or a photo you specifically create for this piece. It can be printed on ANY material.

Your piece will be evaluated on accurately executing assignment criteria, creatively incorporating the photo and on craftsmanship.
