Assignment #4: Planar wood displays and 2D Elements

Assignment #4: Planar wood displays and 2D Elements (4 weeks)
Due date:  October 11th
4 weeks

Create a floor or wall sculpture using planar wood elements and 1 or more 2-dimensional visual
elements (NO PAINT).  Planar wood elements can be strips of cut plywood and must be constructed
using a nail gun and glue. The 2D visual elements must be generated from photos that you have taken
and printed.  You must print in unusual ways and/or on unusual surfaces. Consider stacking,
bending, folding, tearing, cutting, hiding, layering, distressing etc., the 2D elements/i
mages. Think about your images and how they go with the wood elements in a way that is
consistent with your concept, feeling, or ‘story’! Make is as personally significant as you can.

No one dimension can be more than 3 feet.

Do NOT use images, which can in any way be interpreted as “TRITE”, so no cute animals,
pretty flowers, etc., unless you are doing something very interesting with them!!
